Picnic Appetizer Tables

Set up some sod in wooden boxes and then use toothpicks to set up individual appetizers.  Everything from mushrooms, radishes, cherry tomatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, baby carrots, and bowls of dip set in small flower pots.  Perfect set up for an outdoor picnic reception.

  4. The grass is just grown in dirt with grass seed. I've used it in Easter baskets as well when my kids were little (think I stole the idea then from Martha S. but really don't remember!)I don't think I'd eat the grass but hey, if you're into it .... it's your call! I think they grew it in some sort of special burlap type base, but I'd prefer to use a metal rectangular base and use more than one in a row. Otherwise, just fill baskets that are lined with plastic with dirt and seed it like you would your lawn. Just don't forget the plastic--or your baskets will rot!
